Addiction & Recovery
Substance use, alcohol, and behavioral addictions. We look past the behavior to what it's been solving for — and build a real way through.
How I work with addiction
Substance use and behavioral addictions almost always sit on top of something older — a way of regulating an emotional state that no other strategy has touched. Treating the behavior alone tends not to last. The work here is to understand what the addiction has been doing for you, build steadier ways of meeting that need, and address the underlying patterns honestly.

Control patterns and chronic anxiety frequently sit underneath addictive behavior. We’ll work with whatever’s actually there.
